Absztrakt

One of the most significant and decisive figures in the recent history of the Diocese of Csanád was Bishop Gyula Móri Glattfelder, who assumed his ministry on 28 May 1911. Perhaps because it is not easy to collect the sources of his time, his career and his activities, his detailed biography is still awaited. This study is a presentation and a brief description of two relatively unknown manuscripts relating to Bishop Gyula Glattfelder's last years in Timisoara after the First World War. The manuscripts in the Archives of the Bishopric of Timisoara provide valuable information about the bishop's activities, his behaviour and his expulsion from Romania. This was all recorded for posterity by Gyula Glattfelder's direct colleague and confidant, Canon Augustin Pacha, later Bishop of Timisoara, with the validation of an eyewitness.
