The Activity of Alba Iulia’s Cathedral Chapter in the 20th Century

Abstract

 

In 1918, the Chapter of Alba Iulia, according to the Codex Iuris Canonici, played an important role in the governance of the Catholic Diocese of Alba Iulia. It was the most important advisory body to the acting bishop and the Ecclesiastical Office. The Chapter advised the bishop on all ecclesiastical matters, and minutes were written about these discussions. These writings constitute highly valuable documents. During the debates, there were disagreements and differences of opinion, which further enhance the value of these documents.
