Christian death, euthanasia, human dignity, Jesus Christ, palliative careAbsztrakt
This study examines the Christian understanding of death in the context of contemporary debates on euthanasia and human dignity. Engaging critically with the views of Hans Küng and secular arguments in favor of euthanasia, the author explores the attitude of Jesus toward suffering, death, and human vulnerability. The article emphasizes that Christian hope is grounded not in the avoidance of suffering but in trust in the God of life and in solidarity with those who suffer. Special attention is given to palliative care, the dignity of the dying person, and the theological significance of Jesus’ own death as a model of faith, love, and hope. The study concludes that a Christian approach to death is rooted in communion with God and respect for human dignity until natural death.
