Abstract

The following article is the result of ongoing research conducted in the Archdiocesan Archives. Its aim is to present the life and challenges of the Catholic Confessional School of Ditró during the first decades of the twentieth century, up to 1920. This period witnessed significant developments in education that also reached Ditró, as well as the difficulties and sufferings brought about by the First World War. The originality of this research lies in the fact that these archival documents have not been examined or utilized previously. Through the documents discovered, it is possible to reconstruct the history of the Catholic School of Ditró, where the parish priest, assistant priests, and teachers worked to promote culture and provide a better future for the children and the local community.
