Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

The manuscript is the original work of the author(s), has not been previously published, and is not under review by any other journal.
The manuscript adheres to the journal's ethical guidelines, and all potential conflicts of interest and funding sources have been fully disclosed.
The manuscript is free from plagiarism, and all referenced works are properly cited.
The manuscript adheres to the journal's formatting and citation guidelines, with the reference list and footnotes prepared in full compliance with these requirements.
The manuscript aligns with the journal's aims and scope.

Author Guidelines

1. GENERAL GUIDELINES

1.1. File Format

– Word (.docx)

1.2. Manuscript Language

– The journal mainly publishes articles in Hungarian, but occasionally publishes studies in English, German and Italian.

– If the author has written the paper in a language other than his/her native language, the manuscript should be proofread by a language editor before submission.

1.3. Manuscript Length

– Research Article: max. 8000 words

– Workshop Article: max. 6000 words

– Source Report: max. 5000 words

– Review: max. 3000 words

1.4. Font and Spacing

– Main Text: Times New Roman, 12-point font, double-spaced

– Footnote Text: Times New Roman, 10-point font, double-spaced

* For non-Latin fonts (Hebrew, Greek, Coptic, etc.), please use Unicode-compliant fonts or use fonetic transcription (italicized)

1.5. Margins

– 2,54 cm (1-inch) on all sides

2. PARTS OF THE MANUSCRIPT

2.1. Title Page

– Title page should include the title of the paper in Hungarian and English (it should be concise and informative), author's name, affiliation, and contact information (e-mail address).

* Manuscripts for double-blind peer review must be anonymous. The manuscript text for peer review should only contain the title of the paper, all other information about the author will be uploaded as a separate file (Title Page).

2.2. Abstract – in English

– 150-250 words defining the field(s) and topic(s) covered by the article.

2.3. Keywords – in English

– 3-8 words indicating the research areas and topics covered by the study

2.4. Main Text

– Headings and Subheadings: Use no more than three levels of headings.

– Content of the Main Text: The content of the manuscript should fit the profile of the StThTr. The text of the paper should be clear and coherent, providing adequate support and evidence for the research findings reported.

– Quotations: Quotations of less than 100 words should be enclosed in double quotation marks, while quotations of 100 words or more should be presented as block quotations, indented (-0.5 cm) and without quotation marks.

– References: You can refer to sources used in the footnotes using the Chicago Manual of Style Author-Date system (see below). Full bibliographical details of the sources cited should be included in the "Reference List" section at the end of the paper.

– Footnotes: Footnote numbers should immediately follow the word (without space) or, if the footnote refers to a whole sentence or paragraph, the punctuation mark at the end of the sentence.

2.5. Reference List

– The Reference List at the end of the article should only include works that the author has actually cited or referenced in the paper.

– In the Reference List, works are listed in alphabetical order by the authors' surnames, following English alphabetical order. The name of the author should appear before all works.

– Works by the same author published in the same year should be distinguished by letters of the alphabet (e.g. 2012a, 2012b, etc.).

– Bibliographical entries in the Reference List should follow the Chicago Manual of Style Author-Date system (see below).

3. FORMATTING REQUIREMENTS

3.1. References in the Footnotes

– In the footnotes provide only the last name of the author(s)/editor(s), the year of publication, and page numbers if not referring to the entire work.

– If the author's/editor's name referred to is mentioned in a sentence, include the year of publication and, if necessary, the page numbers in parentheses, separated by commas, after the author's surname.

– Distinguish works published by the same author in the same year by adding letters to the publication year (e.g., 2012a, 2012b, etc.).

– One author/editor: Erdő 2023, 149 or Erdő (2023, 149) ... (in a sentence)

– Two authors/editors: Smith and White 2021b, 204–211 or Smith and White (2021b, 204–211) ... (in a sentence)

– Three or more authors/editors: Smith et al. 2023, 88–103 or Smith et al. (2023, 88–103) ... (in a sentence)

– Two or more works: Erdő 2023, 149; Smith and White 2021b, 204–211

3.2. Reference List (Bibliography)

– The bibliographic data of works cited or referred to should be given in the "Reference List" at the end of the paper.

– If the work has a DOI number, it should also be included in the Reference List.
