Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to present the changing proportions of the sacred and the profane elements of the Pentecostal pilgrimage in the secular press. I have searched the Hungarian and Transylvanian online articles for the most common themes and keywords to describe the general view of the event in 2022. It is clear that increasing numbers of profane entertainment programmes are being organised around the date of the pilgrimage. On the basis of the new articles, I have concluded that this Pentecostal pilgrimage has become an event for Hungarian nationalities to meet rather than a religious event.
