When the organ builder Ignácz Takácsy arrived in Transylvania in 1859, exactly in Târgu Mureș, the Catholic Church also had a favored organ builder. Thus, for the first twelve years, he was completely overshadowed by commissions from the Catholic Church. Thanks to friends he had made in the meantime, he did manage to build a few new organs for the Catholics. In order to change this situation, after the change of bishop in 1882, he tried to offer his services to the newly chosen Bishop Ferenc Lönhart and the Diocese of Transylvania, which he governed.
