The aim of this study is to assess the well-being of active students at the Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania through the application of Antonovsky’s salutogenic model. Students’ Sense of Coherence (SOC) and existential anxiety (EAQ) were measured quantitatively in order to examine their role in coping with everyday stressors, as well as their contribution to psychological and existential well-being. The results indicate that a higher sense of coherence not only supports students in managing daily challenges but is also associated with greater existential engagement, suggesting that an integrated perception of life’s meaning and purpose can enhance resilience. Theoretical perspectives from logotherapy and existential analysis provide a broader interpretive framework for understanding these findings, emphasizing the significance of meaning, responsibility, and personal accountability in fostering well-being among students. These insights are particularly relevant for the design and implementation of student support programs and mental health interventions within higher education contexts, highlighting practical pathways to promote both psychological and existential resilience.
